Crimped Hose Connection

Some gas grill valves are connected to the tank hoses by a "crimped" type of clamp. The end of the hose won't unscrew  but is clamped on.

REMEMBER! You must reconnect all fittings securely and check for leaks with soapy water! Failure to do so will result in fire and possible injury! If you're not sure call a technician!

If you're trying to replace the faulty hose-regulator it is easier to replace the emtire assembly with one from  the hardware store.

You have three choices.

1)The factory might have the entire valve-hose-regulator availiable and you would have to go to their website or call their customer service number to do that. You'll need your model number and maybe the serial number for that.

2) You might be able to  replace the manifold of the valve which is the center of the valve and connects the valves and the hose. If  you go to
www.clagrills.com/allgrillparts/all-valves.htm you'll  can try to match your old  "crimped" hose  manifold to one of our  manifolds with a threaded connection which you can attach  a standard flare nut hose-regulator found in most hardware stores.

For example, CLA # 34100 found  in the vales section above replaces the manifold  found on most of the Great Outdoors 1000 through 8000 models.  REMEMBER!Whenever you open gas lines you must reconnect securely AND check with soapy water  with the gas pressure back on!

FAILURE to do this   will result in fire and possible injury! If you're not sure call a technician!

 3) The  last possibility is not always listed by the local code as an acceptable connection  and  will also VOID the factory warrenty. REMEMBER! Failure to make a secure connection will result in dangerous fire and possible injury!

If you're not certain call a technician!   It is possible  to cut the "crimped" band holding the hose to the valve, cut the flared connector of the end of a standard replacement hose and connect the hose to the valve with a hose clamp.

Removing the band from the hose  will likely require a hacksaw . Be sure to put the hose clamp over the  hose and  connect the cut end of the replacement hose-regulator to the  end of the valve manifold and push all the way in.

Tighten the hose clamp but not to the point of stripping. If you do overtighten and strip the clamp you'll have to  replace it. REMEMBER! Failure to secure the gas fitting will result in accidental fire and possible injury!

Check the clamped fitting with soapy water. If you're not certain call a technician!
